What helps you feel connected, included and supported as a student?
The Students' Association, in partnership with Arden University, wants to better understand what belonging means to students across Arden. Whether you study online or on campus, your experiences can help us understand what helps students feel part of the community and what barriers may exist.
By taking part in the Sense of Belonging Survey, you'll help shape future improvements to the student experience. Your feedback will support the development of recommendations, initiatives, and opportunities that help students feel more connected, included and supported throughout their studies.

Belonging means something different to every student. For some, it's finding a sense of community. For others, it's feeling included, supported, represented, or knowing their voice is heard.
As part of this project, we're inviting students to share their stories and experiences of belonging at Arden. Whether you've found meaningful connections, overcome challenges, discovered supportive community, or are still searching for a sense of belonging, we'd love to hear your story.
Selected stories may be featured on the Students' Association website, social media channels and campaign materials to help encourage other students to take part in the Sense of Belonging Survey and highlight the diverse experiences within our student community.
Your story could help other students feel seen, understood and connected, while contributing to an important conversation about what belonging means at Arden.
Competition Time
As a thank you for taking part, students who complete the Sense of Belonging Survey and choose to enter the prize draw will have the chance to win Amazon e-vouchers. Eligible students who provide their details and opt into the prize draw will be automatically entered.
Prizes include:
- 3 x £100 Amazon e-Vouchers through a random prize draw of eligible students
- £10 Amazon e-Vouchers for the first 30 eligible students who complete the survey and enter the prize draw
The survey is open from 9am (UK time) on Monday 19th October until 9am (UK time) on Friday 18th December.

The Sense of Belonging Survey is an opportunity for you to share your experience as an Arden student. We're interested in understanding how connected, included and supported you feel during your studies, and what factors help or hinder your sense of belonging. Your feedback will help the Students' Association and Arden University to identify what's working well and where improvements can be made.
By gathering vital feedback like this, Arden University are able to continuously improve and develop our offering to support you through your studies. We want students to be at the heart of everything we do, helping to shape the future of Arden through their feedback and experiences.
All Arden University students can take part in this survey and we'd love to hear from you. We know students have a wide range of experiences, so hearing from as many students as possible helps us better understand what belonging means across different modes of study, campuses and student groups.
Yes, absolutely!
All students matter to us, and we know that studying online can bring different experiences and challenges. The survey includes questions specifically designed for Distance Learning students so that your views and experiences are fully reflected. These questions will only appear for Distance Learning Students.
By completing the survey you are giving permission for your survey responses to be linked to your student record in order to group responses into themes by areas such as campus, age, nationality, etc.
Your feedback will be treated with strict confidence and will not be shared with any third party unless you give specific permission.
All data will be anonymised when reported and individual responses will only be accessible for analysis purposes.

Your feedback will help your Students' Association and Arden University better understand students' experiences of connection, inclusion and support.
The findings will be used to identify strengths, understand barriers and inform future improvements to the student experience. Results will be reported in themes and trends rather than focusing on individual students.

We have estimated that the survey can take 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
Yes!
All survey respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £100 Amazon e-vouchers, plus a participation prize of a £10 Amazon e-voucher will be awarded to each of the first 30 valid responses to the survey.
The lucky winners will be contacted by email. Any personal details you provide for the prize draw will not be linked back to your survey responses. Your data will be stored securely for a maximum of 12 months and will only be used for administering the prize draw.
