Introducing your new Student Leaders!

You made your choice, you cast your vote, and we are pleased to announce your next Student Leadership Team.

When you start at Arden University you are not just starting a course, but joining a growing community of students, learning, supporting, and developing together.

You become one of our members, meaning you have a say and a vote in what we do.

Your Students' Association runs the election every year to ensure that you have a say in who will be your Student Leaders. However, none of it is possible without dedicated students putting themselves forward to lead.

Thank you to everyone who participated – whether a candidate or a voter – in this election. We have had our highest number of voters yet – 1189 of you making your voices heard!

Your votes were counted and verified, and your new Student Leadership team will be:

  • Student President (Left): Maria O’Sullivan
  • Vice President Education (Middle): Danielle Buia
  • Vice President Student Needs (Right): Daria Tomaszewska

They will start their roles (term of office) in September.

How is this election counted?

We use alternative voting as the most fair and effective way of electing your Student Leaders.

This means that when you vote you put your candidates in order of preference. This voting method allows your vote to transfer to your next preference if your first choice doesn't get enough votes to be elected.

When we count the votes, we first work out the quota. This is the number of votes a candidate needs to win. To work out the quota the following formula is used: Quota = (Total Votes / (Total Seats + 1)) + 1.

For example, if we have a role with one position available and 400 valid votes, the candidate would need 201 votes or more to be elected.

Thank you

We look forward to welcoming your new team in September.

In the meantime, your current student leaders continue to champion and advocate for the voice of students at Arden.

Your current Student Leadership Team is:

  • Student President: Jay Agbaje
  • Vice President Education: Victoria Etim
  • Vice President Student Needs: Jessica Ekeanyanwu

This team are hard at work and will be in place until the end of October 2026.
