Tell us about your educational journey so far
My educational journey has been shaped by resilience, perseverance, and a strong desire to make a difference. I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Public Health, building on my experience in healthcare and community support. Despite facing interruptions and challenges along the way, education has remained a powerful source of hope, growth, and purpose for me.
What inspired you to run for this role?
Before now, I served as a Student Representative and have seen firsthand how strong advocacy can positively change students’ academic experiences which inspired to run for Vice President Education. Also, I understand how overwhelming academic life can be, especially for students navigating complex systems or personal challenges. I want to ensure students feel supported, informed, and empowered to thrive. This role allows me to advocate for inclusive learning, accessible resources, and meaningful academic representation.
How will you make sure all voices are heard and represented?
I will actively listen to students through open forums, surveys, and one-to-one engagement, ensuring feedback translates into action. I am committed to inclusive representation, especially for underrepresented and international students. By collaborating closely with course reps, societies, and staff, I will help create safe, respectful spaces where every student voice truly matters.
What's the best piece of advice you've every received as a student?
The best advice I’ve received is that progress matters more than perfection. As a student, it’s easy to feel pressured to have everything figured out, but growth happens through learning, mistakes, and persistence. That mindset has helped me stay focused, resilient, and compassionate toward myself and others throughout my academic journey.
What's a hobby or interest you have that might surprise people?
Many people know that I love cooking and baking, but they are often surprised to learn that I used to be a volleyball player and still have a strong interest in the sport. Volleyball taught me teamwork, discipline, and resilience, values that continue to shape how I approach leadership, collaboration, and personal growth today.
If you have a completely free day, how would you spend it?
On a completely free day, I’d start with quiet reflection, then spend time cooking or baking something new. I enjoy reading, journaling, and having meaningful conversations. I’d also spend time chatting and calling my family and friends, before resting and recharging, as balance is essential for staying grounded, motivated, and fulfilled.
