At Arden University, Programme Committees are a key part of how we make sure your course continues to grow and improve. As a student representative, you’re not just invited—you’re a full member of the committee. That means your voice, your ideas, and your feedback help shape the future of your programme.
These committees are part of Arden’s Quality Assurance process, where academic teams reflect on how modules and programmes are performing. Together, we look at what’s working, what could be better, and what actions we’ll take to improve student outcomes and experiences. And yes—your feedback is a vital part of that conversation.
What is the Annual Monitoring Review?
The Annual Monitoring Review (AMR) is an internal quality assurance process that takes place every academic year (September to August). It’s where academic teams reflect on:
- How well modules and programmes are performing
- Student outcomes and experiences
- Feedback from students, lecturers, and programme leaders
The result? A clear action plan designed to enhance your course. Your feedback—shared through Programme Committees—is included in the Student Voice section of this review. So when you speak up, it directly influences the decisions made to improve your learning experience.
Why Your Involvement Matters
By joining your Programme Committee, you’ll:
- Contribute to real change: Your insights help shape the action plan for your course.
- Stay informed: You’ll get access to documented notes and agreed actions your programme team is working on.
- Shape your course: Help influence decisions about modules, teaching, and support services.
- Build your skills: Gain experience in academic decision-making and collaborative planning.
We’re incredibly grateful to those of you who’ve already attended Pre-Meetings and shared your thoughts. Now, it’s time to take it one step further.
What’s Next?
The next round of Programme Committees is happening in November, and we’d love to see you there. These meetings will review reflections from lecturers, Module and Programme Leaders, Heads of Department, and Heads of School. Your contribution will help set goals and targets for the upcoming academic year.
You’ll receive an Outlook calendar invitation from a Quality Administrator with all the details you need to join.
