The search is on for the next Student Leadership team of the Students' Association, and we are happy to announce that the team will be growing ...
Why is the team growing
The Students' Association over the last couple of months have been conducting surveys, focus groups, and discussions on the future of student partnership as part of the Student Voice project. The first development from insights collected from staff and students is to expand the Student Leadership Team from 1 to 3 full time student leaders.
This is a great enhancement allowing us to have student leaders with focused remits to better empower, represent and advocate for the voice of over 42,000 students. Elections is our first step in implementing the next team following the approval of the expanded team at Academic Board at the start of May.
The Student Leadership Team Roles

Recruitment and Eligbility
Student Leadership roles are recruited through an election process administered by the Students' Association where all student members shall be able to vote for who will fill the position.
For students to be eligible for the roles they will need to:
- be an fully enrolled active student on an Arden University programme
- Have the right to work in the UK or Germany - these are full time roles where they will be employed by the University.
- Not be in the process of being withdrawn from the University
- Be able to start a 12 month full time contract of employment from October 2025
- Be willing and able to take a break in learning where applicable
This information will be collected at the point of nomination and any candidate who does not meet the criteria will not have their nomination approved. These criteria are not in place as a barrier but to ensure that who students elect are able to take the office, they are being elected to.
How can you help
We work to ensure that the election process is fairly and properly conducted. Therefore, as staff members we can:
- Promote the election
- Recommend any students that we think would be good in the roles to nominate
- Encourage students to vote
We cannot:
- Give candidates advice on what should be in their manifestos
- Endorse or encourage students to vote for a particular candidate
- Give individual candidates support or advantages that we wouldnt reasonably provide to other candidates
We help we have provided a number of assets and resources that you can use below to help you help us make these elections great.
Recommend a student
We know that you all work closely with alot of amazing students. Reading the role descriptions some of these students may have already come to mind - would they make a great student leaders.
Well we actively encourage you to use our recommend a friend form to tell us about them. When we receive your submission we will reach out to the student letting them know that someone (we dont share your name) thinks they would make a great student leaders. We will also provide them with information on how to nominate themselves if they want to take that next step into leadership.

More information about Elections
What Is the Election and Why Do We Do It?
Elections are a way to appoint individuals into roles, but instead of providing a CV, the potential leaders will create candidate statements (manifestos). And finally, instead of a recruitment panel having the power to decide, you, our students, have the power by voting for your preferred winners. The Student Leadership Elections are the biggest elections to happen throughout the year at your university. They are a chance for students to decide on who their student leaders will be. These students will represent, advocate and campaign for your academic interests and needs to ensure the student journey is truly impactful.
Our Student Leadership Elections are also achance for students to step into leadership and nominate themselves for a role that they are passionate about.
