We have a Programme Validation opportunity open for our postgraduate student representatives.  

Arden University has degree awarding powers, but to maintain this, the institution must adhere to nationally agreed standards for the courses that are taught here. Validation is a process by which the university approves programmes (or courses) which lead to an academic award, and this is done through paperwork and documentation. 

Alongside assuring that the quality and standards are met, the process also considers the suitability of the award proposed for the programme (for instance: BSc or BA/ MSc or MA and so on). 

As a student representative you can ensure that the quality and standards of the education you receive at Arden University aligns with the national standards and that it is maintained. This is your chance to be a critical friend to your academics and help them validate the MSc Strategic Digital Marketing programme. 

Eligibility: 

• You must be a fully enrolled student at Arden University and actively studying. 

• You must be studying at Postgraduate level (or Level 7). 

• Current MSc Strategic Digital Marketing students are not eligible for this validation event as the panel needs to have students with an objective view for the course. 

How you will be involved: 

• You will read draft documentation, including programme specifications, module specifications, handbooks, etc and provide feedback in advance of the Programme Review meeting. 

• During the review meeting the programme team will outline their proposal and the panel (including you) will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the details of the new programme.    

• The Programme Review meeting is provisionally scheduled for Friday 12th December 2025, from 2:30-5pm and it will be hosted online on Microsoft Teams.  

Preparation: 

• Belinda Cross, Senior Quality Officer working with the Faculty of Business and Innovation, will offer training/briefing and be on hand to advise, help and support. 

Here’s what you will earn: 

• Great experience to show off on your CV in gaining an insight into university processes and making a genuine contribution to programme development.  

• The Quality Team at Arden University will pay you £150 overall for your involvement when the programme validation process has been completed.
