About Me
Hi everyone!
My name is Jessica Ekeanyanwu, and I’m currently studying Business Management. Through my course, I’ve developed strong skills in organisation, communication, leadership, and problem solving and I’ve learned how to turn ideas into action. But learning hasn’t just come from the classroom.
Outside of university, I help manage my brother’s music career creating content, planning promotions, and building his social media presence. It’s taught me how to connect with people, stay creative under pressure, and deliver real results. From planning campaigns to promoting someone’s dreams, I’ve learned how to lead, support, and communicate and I want to bring those same skills into this role, for YOU.
I might be behind the scenes managing TikToks, Instagram reels, and Spotify uploads but I’ll still find time to vibe to his songs, give feedback, and make sure his brand stays strong! Creative work is in my nature and so is supporting others behind the scenes.
I’m stepping forward as a student leader because I believe every student deserves to be seen, heard, and supported not just occasionally, but every single day.
My journey as a Business Management student and as someone managing a real creative brand behind the scenes has taught me the power of leadership that listens, plans, and delivers. Whether I’m organising content with photographers and videographers or balancing deadlines and commitments, I’ve learned one thing: real leadership means showing up, even when it’s hard especially when it’s hard.
What motivates me is the silence I’ve seen too often students with real issues who feel ignored, unseen, or unheard. I want to break that silence.
I want to be the leader who fights for fairer support, pushes for more inclusive spaces, and brings your concerns to the front line. Not because I have all the answers but because I’m not afraid to ask the right questions.
Why you should vote for me
What Makes Me a Great Student Leader
What sets me apart is my ability to lead both in theory and in action. As a Business Management student, I understand how to plan, organise, and solve problems. But beyond that, I live leadership every day coordinating video shoots, managing creative teams, and running social media for my brother’s music career.
I know how to listen, how to take initiative, and how to turn ideas into real results.
I’m approachable, dependable, and passionate about people. I believe in leading with empathy, speaking up for others, and getting things done. I’m not just here to represent students I’m here to uplift them.
As a student at Arden University, it’s clear that one of the biggest challenges we face is feeling isolated and disconnected from both the university community and from each other. Arden’s flexible, mostly online learning model gives us incredible freedom, but it also brings a serious risk: many students feel alone in their studies, which can make it harder to stay motivated, manage stress, and get the support we need.
Why does this isolation happen?
At Arden, many students study remotely, often juggling studies with work, family, and other commitments. We rarely see each other in person, and while online tools connect us, they don’t always create the strong sense of belonging that comes from face to face interaction. This can lead to feeling like you’re just “another name on a screen” rather than part of a supportive student community.
When students feel disconnected, it affects more than just their social life. It impacts their motivation and mental health. Without a support network, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by deadlines or lose confidence when challenges come up. This isolation can lead to increased stress, anxiety, and sometimes even dropout.
Why this matters especially at Arden
Unlike traditional universities where students can meet classmates in lectures, libraries, or social spaces, Arden’s model means many students study alone sometimes in different cities, countries, or time zones. The lack of physical presence and the challenge of coordinating across distances can make it tough to build friendships, study groups, or just share everyday experiences.
For many of us, Arden is a lifeline a chance to improve our lives through education while managing other parts of life. But that opportunity comes with the responsibility to make sure we don’t lose the human connection that helps us push through tough times.
What I pledge to do if elected
1. Championing Student Voices
As your student leader, I will be a strong advocate for every student’s voice. I believe that your concerns and ideas deserve to be heard and acted upon. I will ensure open channels for communication, listen actively, and bring your needs directly to the decision-makers. Together, we will create real change that improves our academic experience, campus life, and overall wellbeing.
2. Building a Connected and Inclusive Community
I am committed to fostering a school environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included. By promoting diversity and organizing engaging events that bring students together, I will work to break down barriers and build strong connections across our student body. Inclusivity is not just a goal it’s the foundation for a supportive and united community.
3. Empowering Academic and Personal Growth
Success inside and outside the classroom matters equally. I will push for better access to academic support like tutoring and workshops, while also promoting mental health awareness and wellbeing initiatives. My aim is to empower every student to reach their full potential by providing the tools, resources, and support necessary for growth and achievement.
