Unitu and You

We are pleased to be relaunching the Unitu system which is your platform for student voice.

What is Unitu?

Unitu is your dedicated student voice platform. The platform is where the collective student voice comes together to share ideas, raise concerns and work to create solutions that enhance the student experience for all. It is your space to provide feedback and even see what you fellow students think about it. That way you have the power to transform your educational journey through student-focussed and solution driven conversations with the relevant staff on the platform.

Note: Unitu is a space amplifying the voice of students on matters that impact their student journey. Think of it as Your Voice, Only Louder and safe and positive space for collective action.

Unfortunately, this is not a space for community chats, events, or other types of community building activities.

What can I do on Unitu?

Unitu is your space to come together as a student community to get the answers and changes you want to see to make your student journey truly transformational. The platform has functions to allow you to raise:

  • Questions: where you just cant find the answers anywhere else. This could be on services and resources but just post on the right board to ensure we can get the right answers quick.
  • Issues: we need to know them in order to solve them. Raise the issue and we can make sure we bring it to the attention of the right people to get it solved. We would also include students in identifying the solutions to make sure they meet the needs of students.
  • Ideas: on how to make the collective student experience better. Raise them in Unitu, get support and comments from other students and work with us to see how we can make it a reality.
  • Praises: are a great way to thank staff for their positive impact on your experience. It is also a great way to encourage other staff to do the same.

Whatever you raise will first be seen by students, representatives, and your Students' Association before we move it to the wider University staff to look at.

What boards will I have access to?

Our Unitu boards have been created to ensure that you can feed into the different student communities you are a part of. These include your department, campus and the University as a whole.

Every student would have access to at least 5 boards. These include:

All Student Boards

You will have access to 3 all student boards which are:

  • Arden University Board: This board
  • Get involved in student research Board: This board is specific for students to use to where they need other students to get involved in research activities that relate to their course. This could be for a project or other assignment.
  • Incubator Board: This board is specific to the activities of the Universities Enterprise incubator.

The Arden University board is a great oppounity to raise ideas and solutions that have the potential to positively impact the whole student body. It is also a great place to raise concerns and solutions about services and resources that are available to all students such as iLearn, your student portal, and much more.

Campus Board

You will also be given access to your appropriate campus board, so whether you are a Distance Learner, Apprentice, Berlin or at one of our UK campuses there will be a board for you.

These boards are great to raise ideas, questions, and concerns about:

  • Your campus community
  • Digital and physical campus spaces
  • Accessibility
  • Non-academic services and resources

And don't forget there are dedicated teams of suport staff at each campus to support you so think about submitting a praise every now and again and let them know what their work means to you.

Department Board

Finally, you will have access to your academic department board.

These boards are great to raise ideas, questions, and concerns about:

  • Your curriculum
  • Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • Academic services and resources

You can also raise a praise for the work that your academic teams are doing to support your educational journey.

Guides and Resources

We want to empower you to feel confident to use Unitu effectively so that the interactions are meaningful. So, we have created instructions on the best ways for you to use the boards that you have access to.

Your Boards About Page

Every board you have access to has an about page tab. These pages have been written specifically for that board to assist you to get the most out of your student voice. This will include information about what you can and cannot use the board for. Where there is information on what you cannot use the board for we will also provide links to other areas or services that your feedback would be more appropriate.

The boards are also monitored by your Student Voice Champions and Representatives so that they can work with the University to get the answers you need or work on the solutions you want to see to enhance your student experience.

Resources

We have also creates a guide for students on how to use Unitu and some top tips on how you can get the most out of the system. This resource has step-by-step guides and videos.
