How would you create the Student Transfer Policy and Process?
Your ideas and solutions will pave the way for a improved process.
The Transfers process at the University is currently being scrutinised and reviewed and your voice could be integral to make and process efficient and student-centred.
What is the transfers process and why is it being reviewed?
The process enables students to transfer between programmes if they choose to. The review is focusing on two are - 'Fix the now' and 'Change the future'. You do not have to have gone through the transfer process to get involved in the review. You just need to be a student that is willing to engage in the discussion and help decide what should happen next.
Getting involved
The University is keen to engage in solution-focussed discussions where you can share your thoughts. There are two key opportunities to get involved:
Operational Research on transfers
You can complete a short questionnaire with up to five questions looking at the Transfer process. Your voice will help in understanding why a student would like to transfer either course, campus or mode of study.
Share what is important to you when interacting with the processes in place at the university to improve the efficiency of the process, the policy that underlines it and the university’s support services.

The Student Transfers Workshops
The University team leading the review will also be running workshops where they will be running activities like the 5 whys and Crazy 8s. This is a great way to give feedback and experience how these activities work first hand.
During the sessions, we will:
- Explore a deeper understanding into the root causes as to why a student might want to transfer
- Explore and create agreed sets of principles that would shape the policy
- Share the wackiest, most ambitious ideas on how you would liek to deliver the transfer principles
We will be running sessions:
- Manchester Campus: Thursday 25th September 2025 (13:00-14:30)
- Holborn Campus: Tuesday 7th October 2025 (13:00-14:30)
