What Does the Student President Do?
The Student President is the senior leader of the Students’ Association, acting as the voice of Arden students across all campuses and learning modes. You’ll lead a team of fellow student officers, represent students at university meetings, and help shape the future of the Arden experience.
You’ll work in partnership with:
- University leadership and senior staff
- The Students’ Association team and Advisory Board
- Student Leadership Team (Vice President Education and Vice President Student Needs)
- Student Representatives across Arden’s campuses and online community
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Student Leadership
Guide and support the Sabbatical Officer team to represent students effectively. You’ll be the figurehead of the Student Representative Network.
- Champion the Student Voice
You’ll speak up for students at academic boards, working groups, and strategic planning meetings. You’ll raise issues that matter most, whether it’s digital access, course quality, campus facilities, or student wellbeing.
- Shape Arden’s Future
You’ll influence decisions on institutional priorities like campus expansion, international strategy, and digital learning. And contribute to high-level university strategies, reports and regulatory submissions.
- Run Campaigns That Matter
Organise impactful campaigns based on real student feedback, while using data and insights to identify needs and advocate for change.
- Be Everywhere Students Are
Visit all Arden campuses across the UK and Berlin and represent distance learners and on-campus students alike.
What’s In It for You?
✔ Full time salary: £27,000 (plus London weighting if relevant)
✔ Contract: Full-time, 12 months (starts October 2025)
✔ Travel: Paid travel across campuses

What does a ‘Day in the Life’ of this role look like?
Here’s a snapshot of how your weeks could look:
- Attend high-level meetings with university leaders
- Visit campuses to meet students and gather feedback
- Run campaigns or plan events with the Students Association and Student Leadership team.
- Work with the Managing Director on strategy and development
- Support student volunteers and fellow officers
- Represent students in university decision-making rooms
Every week is different, but every week is focused on students. Also, you won’t be doing this alone, working in this role not only will you be part of a larger team of students working for students, but you’ll also receive a full induction and tailored training to prepare you for the role. You’ll have regular guidance from the Managing Director and dedicated staff team, alongside mentoring to help you develop your leadership and professional skills. Plus, you’ll be part of a supportive network of student leaders, all working together to create positive change across Arden University.
