Coming Soon: ADHD Awareness Month

In October we will be celebrating ADHD Awareness Month with this years theme being the 'Many Faces of ADHD'. We are inviting students to participate by sharing their stories, videos or even a meme about their experience.

Your Students' Association is made up of over 44,000 student voices at Arden. We are incredible proud, and honoured, to be able to advocate for an inspiring and diverse student body. However, we do not just want to advocate but share, understand and celebrate the diversity of our students together.

We are happy to be supporting one of your fellow students to bring you ADHD Awareness Month for the first time.

About ADHD Awareness Month

October marks ADHD Awareness Month—a time to spotlight the realities, challenges, and strengths of living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Far more than a clinical label, ADHD is a diverse neurodevelopmental condition that affects millions of people across all walks of life. This month is about education, empathy, and empowerment. It’s a call to challenge stereotypes, amplify lived experiences, and foster inclusive spaces where neurodivergent individuals can thrive.

This year’s theme, “The Many Faces of ADHD,” invites us to explore the rich tapestry of ADHD experiences. It’s a powerful reminder that ADHD doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some people are hyperactive and impulsive; others are quietly inattentive. Some are creative dynamos, others are strategic problem-solvers. ADHD intersects with gender, race, disability, and mental health in complex ways—and this theme encourages us to honour that complexity.

Whether you’re a student, educator, ally, or advocate, this theme is your invitation to listen deeply and share boldly. It’s about moving beyond the clichés and embracing the nuance: the executive dysfunction and the innovation, the emotional intensity and the empathy, the struggle and the strength.

What you have to look forward to during ADHD Awareness Month?

This year’s campaign is packed with interactive opportunities designed to spark conversation and connection:

  • Shared Stories: You will be able to learn more about your fellow students who choose to share their stories. Read on to find out how you can get involved.

  • Explore the Interactive Hub: Visit the dedicated ADHD Awareness Month page, where you’ll find quizzes, myth-busting challenges, student-led podcasts, and downloadable resources. It’s designed to be ADHD-friendly, with bite-sized content, visual aids, and flexible formats that support different learning styles.

  • Attend Virtual Events: Keep an eye out for webinars, panel discussions, and creative workshops hosted by neurodivergent students and professionals. These events will cover topics like ADHD in higher education, intersectionality, and practical strategies for thriving with ADHD.

  • Amplify on Social Media: Use the hashtag #ManyFacesOfADHD to share your insights, boost awareness, and connect with others. Whether it’s a meme, a reel, or a heartfelt post, your contribution helps shift the narrative.

ADHD Awareness Month isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about building community. It’s about validating the messy, beautiful, nonlinear journeys of those who live with ADHD every day. So, let’s celebrate the many faces of ADHD: the thinkers, the feelers, the creators, the rebels, the quiet ones, and the loud ones. Let’s make space for all of them.

How you can get involved?

We’re inviting students to submit short reflections, poems, artwork, or videos that capture their personal experience with ADHD. Whether you’re diagnosed, self-identifying, or simply passionate about neurodiversity, your voice matters.
